NBB appoints Subah Al Zayani as new head of retail banking

MANAMA: National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) has appointed Subah Al Zayani as new head of retail banking.

The bank said Mr Al Zayani will lead ongoing efforts to innovate retail operations for gaining more market share and “enhance the delivery of market leading financial products and services across digital platforms and the largest branch network in Bahrain”.

He has more than 12 years of retail banking experience having held a number of senior positions at Bahrain’s largest local and regional banks.

Most recently, he served as deputy head of retail banking at Kuwait Finance House-Bahrain.

NBB chief executive Jean-Christophe Durand said, “We are pleased to have brought on board such a well-established senior Bahraini banker who knows and understands the needs of our customers, both in the local market and beyond, and how we must effectively continue to evolve and improve the way we cater for them. We have already taken significant steps to innovate and to enhance the customer experience and we look forward to seeing even greater progress with this strong, new addition to our team.”

Mr Al Zayani said he was “extremely proud to join NBB at this exciting time of growth and transformation for the bank”.

According to him, upcoming plans include “further diversifying our product and service offering, strengthening efficiency and fast-tracking the adoption of modern, digital services”.
