NBB achieves Business Continuity Management System certification

NBB has achieved the Business Continuity Management System Certification ISO22301:2019 after completing all the necessary requirements.

The bank said in a statement that the achievement of the ISO22301:2019 certification marks a significant milestone in its journey towards enhancing internal systems and processes, ensuring that the bank is aligned with the most stringent international standards to minimise the effect of disruptive incidents and their impact on its customers, stakeholders, partners and the community as a whole.

The certification is based on an independent assessment against the standard, which aims to cover various areas of the discipline of business continuity and resilience taking into consideration the readiness of all processes, people and technology.

Commenting, Mohamed Hammad, group head of business continuity management at the bank, said: “The ISO22301:2019 certification marks a strong trajectory for us at the bank which reflects our ongoing efforts towards applying international standards to our day-to-day internal processes and operating environment.”

Abdulla Naqi, business continuity manager at NBB, added: “This achievement will enhance our resilience and further strengthen our ability to manage business disruptions and threats by applying industry best practices across the bank.”
