Muscat to go under total lockdown for 12 days

Muscat: Oman has announced that Muscat will come under total lockdown for 12 days, starting tomorrow (April 10) until April 22, Oman News Agency reported.

The move was set in place due to an increase in infection cases in a number of areas in the sultanate, most notably in the wilayat of Muttrah, which has been on lockdown since April 1.

The Supreme Committee tasked with tackling the developments of the pandemic will manage the lockdown through the activation of control checkpoints with effect from 10am on Friday until 10am on April 22.

The Sultanate's Ministry of Health reported 48 new cases on Wednesday, bringing the total number of infections across the country to 419, including 72 recoveries and two deaths.
