MPs want to slash fuel prices

MPs have presented an urgent proposal to slash fuel prices.

The proposal, which will be debated in Parliament today, covers benzene and gasoline and their derivatives.

"Internationally oil prices are at their lowest so why is the government still selling at a set price that is much higher," said MP

Ebrahim Al Nefaei, who is spearheading the proposal with four other MPs.

"Monopolyising the fuel market doesn't mean that prices shouldn't be revised and reviewed.

"People are facing difficult financial situations due to Covid-19.”
