Misinformation about recent spike in Covid-19 cases addressed

A senior medic has addressed online misinformation surrounding the recent increase in Covid-19 cases.

National Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus (Covid-19) monitoring committee head Lt Col Dr Manaf Al Qahtani said vaccinations were not related to the spike and emphasised that vaccines needed a period of time to provide immunity.

“Some people have not complied with the measures necessary to stop the spread of Covid-19,” Dr Al Qahtani said.

“All vaccines are efficient, but compliance to precautions announced remain imperative, such as social distancing and wearing face masks.”

He also said that jabs for children have been rolled out after due studies.
