Labour Minister: 'Aspire' initiative to support career development of Bahraini private sector workforce

Manama, Apr. 12 (BNA): Labour Minister, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, has praised the announcement of the Cabinet, during its recent weekly meeting chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, of the launch of the “Aspire" initiative designed to support the career development of Bahraini postgraduate degree holders and create quality job opportunities that match their qualifications.

 

He affirmed that the initiative is in line with the government's interest in enhancing career development opportunities that contribute to raising the standard of living for citizens working in the private sector, which is the main engine of the national economy, noting that the objectives of the scheme is consistent with a proposal submitted by the Council of Representatives.

 

The minister pointed out that the initiative will contribute to attracting more institutions and companies to the private sector, as they will benefit from the expertise of highly-qualified national competencies, commending, in this regard, the efforts exerted by the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) to implement programmes and initiatives, in cooperation with the Labour Ministry, to pave the way for integrating national competencies into the labour market, and provide them with the necessary rehabilitation and training to increase production.

 

He affirmed that the Labour Ministry will harness all its potential and capabilities to achieve the goals of the “Aspire” initiative, as part of national efforts to develop the national workforce and facilitate their access to leadership positions in all production sectors.

 

Minister Humaiidan called on the private sector establishments to take advantage of this initiative to develop the job performance of their workers and benefit from the support for their wages by no less than 20% for a period of two years, stressing that the Labour Ministry pays great attention to the career advancement of Bahrainis working in the private sector.
