King praises team effort

Manama: His Majesty King Hamad yesterday praised society’s collective and loyal efforts to limit the spread of coronavirus.

His Majesty addressed citizens and residents in a speech broadcast on BTV when he wished Muslims a blessed Eid.

“We usually receive people from all governorates in our majlis during this time every year,” he said.

“Our current circumstances have led us to communicating with you remotely, but I assure you no matter how far the distance, our hearts remain connected under all circumstances.

“We look forward to our life returning to normal as soon as possible,” the King said.

“We express our sincere and deep gratitude for the collective efforts to adhere to precautionary measures to combat this pandemic, and support from the national team.

“We will ensure that these valiant efforts are deservingly rewarded.

“Bahrain’s people have shown the most incredible examples of loyalty, humanity and co-operation in this crisis.”

He praised the collective discipline shown by people in Bahrain by complying with precautionary measures to fight the pandemic.

He also underlined the professionalism and commitment of Team Bahrain, “led by our son, His Highness the Crown Prince, and since the inception of the national taskforce, by various ministries and state institutions”.

It is our duty to praise “such dedicated endeavours that we will honour deservedly in recognition of the massive sacrifices.

“We cite in particular those who were on the frontlines, standing valiantly with courage, competence and steadfastness.

“They are from the medical, health, nursing, administrative, and security, both military and civilian, sectors.”

He said Bahrain’s loyal people and residents have offered the most amazing examples of selflessness, sacrifice and solidarity.
