King praises India’s pivotal global role

Manama: His Majesty King Hamad yesterday received a telephone call from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

They reviewed historical relations and co-operation.

The King lauded ties binding both countries, describing them as strategic, deep-rooted and based on common interests as well as mutual respect and understanding.

He praised the pivotal role of India at regional and international levels and its contribution to maintaining international peace, security and stability.

The King and the Indian Premier discussed ways of boosting co-operation in combating the Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19).

The King stressed Bahrain’s keenness to provide support and care for all citizens and expats to protect their safety and health.

The Indian Prime Minister thanked the King for his unflinching support. He also commended the kingdom’s diligent efforts, spearheaded by the King, to combat Covid-19, contain its impact and provide support and care for the Indian community in Bahrain.

He also praised coexistence as well as religious and cultural diversity which have characterised Bahraini society.
