Joint work ‘vital to fight challenges’

The Crown Prince yesterday called for collective efforts to realise the objectives of the kingdom’s comprehensive development and achieve national priorities.

He commended wide-ranging achievements of Team Bahrain, comprising the executive authority, the legislative authority, the private sector as well as citizens and residents.

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, was speaking as he remotely met Parliament Speaker Fouzia Zainal and Shura Council chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh.

The Crown Prince lauded the King’s address at the inauguration of the third session of the fifth legislative term, noting it should be the basis of all workstreams and serve as a road map for further forward-looking initiatives, plans and development projects.

He noted that to deliver on this, an increase in productive co-operation between the executive and legislative branches is required.

The Crown Prince said Bahrain’s democratic journey continues steadfastly towards further prosperity for the country and its citizens, who will always remain at the heart of all development efforts.

He thanked the Parliament speaker and the Shura chairman, and members of both councils, for their role in advancing collaboration between the executive and legislative branches.

He underlined the unprecedented challenges imposed by the global spread of Covid-19, noting that Bahrain, through the solidarity of its people and their collective spirit, has turned these challenges into opportunities for further development across various sectors.

He added that these efforts must continue with further efficiency and drive during the next phase of joint work between both branches.
