JCDecaux: a company with a vision

A company with a vision

JCDecaux is the world’s largest Out-of-Home advertising company and a champion of ESG best practices. Present in over 80 countries, JCDecaux specializes in providing advertising solutions in public spaces and transport, counting over 150 airports around the world.

The company is the leader of OOH in the Middle East too, operating the advertisement throughout 37 airport platforms in Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and UAE.

JCDecaux Bahrain won the exclusive concession to advertise at Bahrain International Airport and it’s providing brands with iconic and premium media to promote their products and services.

An ethical business model

Since 1964, JCDecaux has provided partners with products that offer useful and innovative services in public spaces paid by OOH advertising. This is the virtuous business model that was invented by our founder, that continues to improve the quality of life of the public, while meeting their evolving expectations.

In 2022, the group launched the 2030 Sustainability Strategy to reduce the environmental impact and became a partner of the UN Joint Sustainable Development Goals Fund extending its commitment with this new agreement, to support Human rights and committing to a concrete policy of supporting major causes throughout the world.

A leader in sustainability

Attention and respect to the environment is rooted in our company and recently translated into facts: we have been the first OOH company in the world awarded with the RE100 certificate.

Moreover, our endeavours to reach net-zero emissions were recognized by major non-financial rating agencies:

JCDecaux Bahrain, 100% sustainable

At Bahrain International Airport, JCDecaux follows the highest ESG standards and has been striving to optimize the usage of digital and static asset, in order to provide a quality product with the minimum waste.

A first step was to power all our digital screens by 100% renewable energy. Bahrain International is indeed one of the terminals in the world operating under high sustainability standards. To reinforce that, we also took action to reduce the electricity consumption necessary to light up our static assets by using low-consumption LED lighting in all our networks.

Finally, we explored new possibilities for waste reduction by implementing a system that controls lighting. This system activates during low-traffic hours and allows a sound 25% energy savings without decreasing the campaign’s impact.
