HSBC named best sub-custodian bank

MANAMA: HSBC Bahrain has been named the best sub-custodian at ‘The Asset Triple A Sustainable Investing Awards 2021.

HSBC won a total of 18 awards across different markets and territories.

“These awards recognise the market leading products and services that HSBC offers its clients in Bahrain,” said Chris Russell, chief executive of HSBC in Bahrain.

“Our local team of securities services experts has been playing an important role in not only helping investors safeguarding assets but also in bringing sophisticated products and instruments to the local market.”

HSBC established custody services in Bahrain in 1996.

Since then, the local market has seen steady growth and crossed a number of milestones.

The bourse has adopted Global Investor Classification Standards in July 2021 and has been focused on an ESG agenda, that stems from growing demands of international investors and rating agencies for listed companies to address ESG information within their core reporting.
