HRH Prince Salman praises F1 success

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, attended the Formula One Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2021, held at the Yas Marina Circuit.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen took his first Formula One title, denying rival Lewis Hamilton a record eighth, with a last-lap overtake to win a season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix that started and ended amid high drama and controversy yesterday.

The Crown Prince and Prime Minister noted that the region has become a home for Formula One races, due to the unique capabilities and experience that GCC countries possess.

He extended his congratulations to UAE President Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on the successful hosting of the race.

HRH Prince Salman wished the UAE and the organisers at the Yas Marina Circuit for Formula One success in hosting future races.

Prior to the start of the race, he was given a tour of the circuit and was briefed on the final preparations for the race.

At the circuit, he met Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed, as well as high-ranking officials.
