Housing Minister praises Bahrain’s sustainable housing cities

Manama, Oct. 31 (BNA): Housing and Urban Planning Minister Amna bint Ahmed Al Romaihi highlighted the Kingdom’s experience in building sustainable housing cities that received international and regional appreciation, marking World Cities Day.

 

The minister said that Bahrain is one of the pioneering countries in the region by establishing eight sustainable housing cities in the various governorates of the Kingdom.

 

She said that the government headed by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, is establishing and providing 40,000 housing units in five modern cities, namely Salman City, Khalifa City, East Al Hidd, East Sitra and Al Ramli.

 

Al Romaihi said that the occasion of World Cities Day is also an opportunity to highlight the Kingdom's participation in the international community in implementing the sustainable development goals 2030, especially the 11th goal, which aspires to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe and sustainable.
