Housing Bank to extend financial support for three months

Manama, June 22 (BNA): Housing Minister , and Housing Bank Board of Directors’ Chairman Basim bin Yacob Al Hamer valued the royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to launch a financial and economic package to deal with COVID-19 pandemic.

 

 

The minister praised the follow up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and his directives to the concerned authorities to develop appropriate solutions to support sectors affected by the pandemic.

 

 

The Housing Bank confirmed its commitment to the decisions of the Cabinet to extend a number of support initiatives within the financial and economic package for an additional three months, starting from June to August.

 

 

The bank affirmed  it immediate implementation of the decision to exempt tenants of government properties and government companies in the affected sectors for three months.

 

 

Minister Al Hamer said that this decision came within the framework of the directives of HRH the Crown Prince, and Prime Minister, to the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Financial Balance to consider postponing the collection of some government dues owed to citizens, in line with national efforts to confront the global spread of coronavirus at the local level, in a manner that preserves the health and safety of citizens and residents, with the continuation of Bahrain’s programs and its work process to achieve sustainable development for the benefit of citizens.
