Heavy fines on shops, cafes for breaching Covid-19 norms

MANAMA: Five people and five shops have been fined up to B2,000 each for violating regulations in place to combat the coronavirus (Covid-19).

The Bahraini owners of the three restaurants, a coffee shop and a supermarket and their businesses have been fined a total of BD15,000.

The defendants, who appeared before the Lower Criminal Court yesterday, were found guilty of breaking social distancing rules, not taking temperatures of customers and seating more than six people per table.
