Health care regulations in spotlight

A conference to discuss health care regulations is set to take place in June, organised by the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA).

The third Health Regulatory Conference and Exhibition will host government health care officials, health reform and regulation experts, pharmaceutical company owners, investors, technology experts and more.

Taking place from June 2 to 4 at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Residence and Spa, pre-conference workshops are scheduled for the first day, while the conference and exhibition will be held on the second and third days.

It will be held under the patronage of Supreme Council for Health president Lieutenant General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.

Two halls will be made available for sponsors and partners to meet the increasing demand from last year’s edition, with a floor plan designed to make the exhibition a business hub.

“The NHRA has aimed to build a comprehensive and integrated system to guarantee that the organisation of health professions in Bahrain is at the peak of international standards,” NHRA chief executive Dr Mariam Al Jalahma said in a statement.

“The programmes that the authority has secured for the conference will empower institutions in the health sector from all various levels and types,” she added.

Meanwhile, conference scientific committee chairperson and NHRA clinical trials and continuous professional development department chief Dr Azhar Naseeb listed the main objectives of the event.

“The event’s goal is to bring together health care providers, the pharmaceutical industries, health care organisations, medical educators, experts in patient safety and accreditation experts,” she said.

“These regional and global parties will share insights on implementing and managing health regulations,” she added.

More than 800 participants from different fields in Bahrain’s healthcare and the Gulf region attended last year’s conference.
