'Hazard pay' for government employees combating Covid-19
MPs today approved a proposal to give government employees working at the frontline of combatting the Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) “hazard pay”.
The proposal entitles all medical, security and support government employees to receive the extra allowances calculated on basic pay from February until the crisis is over.
It would also cover volunteers depending on their contribution.
