Gulf Air to resume flights to India

Gulf Air, the kingdom’s national carrier, tonight announced that it will resume its direct flights to and from India staring with Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) on September 14, along with Cochin and Calicut in the coming days, with plans to announce a further expansion into more destinations within India soon.

The flights will be operating based on a special agreement between the two governments.

Gulf Air has been operating direct flights between Bahrain and India since 1960 and its network of Indian cities has always been key within the airline’s global network. It currently flies to and from London, Paris, Frankfurt, Manila, Athens, Cairo, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuwait, Peshawar, Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi.

It has been one of the few airlines that continued scheduled commercial operations. Gulf Air said it continuously works closely with the authorities throughout the destinations on its network and aims to resume all operations as soon as airports reopen.
