Gulf Air signs training accord with Tamkeen

Gulf Air has signed an agreement with the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), which aims to further enhance co-operation between the two entities, and help support the training and employment of Bahrainis.

The agreement was signed by Gulf Air chief executive Captain Waleed Al Alawi and Tamkeen’s acting chief executive Maha Mofeez during the Bahrain International Airshow.

Capt Al Alawi said, “Tamkeen is a strategic partner for Gulf Air through supporting many training and employment programmes for nationals and we are pleased to co-operate again and contribute to promoting the development of Bahraini talent.”

Ms Mofeez emphasised the importance of this co-operation with Gulf Air.

“We thank Gulf Air for its continuous support in qualifying and upskilling Bahrainis in the high-potential aviation sector. One of Tamkeen’s key mandates is to support the development of local talent across all sectors, while also focusing on enhancing the specialised skills that contribute to high-quality job opportunities,” she added.

Gulf Air has recorded high Bahrainisation rates of around 80 per cent, well ahead of all other regional carriers in terms employing nationals.
