Government urged to cover 50 per cent of Bahraini salaries until April

Three urgent proposals concerning pandemic repercussions have been submitted today by MPs for inclusion in tomorrow’s weekly session.

The three proposals are having the government shoulder 50 per cent of salaries of Bahrainis in most affected sectors from February to April, allowing mothers in the private and government sectors to work from home over the three-week compulsory online education period, and providing financial support from the government to nurseries, kindergartens and training institutes affected by low presence of students and now three-week closure.

Five MPs have signed on each of the proposals, which are all spearheaded by Ebrahim Al Nefaei.
