GFG takes pride in national workforce; 169 Bahrainis employed since January
Manama, Sep. 7 (BNA): Gulf Air Group Holding (GFG) asserted that it takes pride in its national working force in all its subsidiaries.
It reiterated that that each member of the GFG workforce is highly valued, and that it appreciated their invaluable contributions as it strives to fulfill its mandate and vision.
The group affirmed in a statement that investing in its human capital has always been a priority, adding that development plans of the group continue to work on increasing Bahrainisation and empower national talent to hold leading positions in the group.
The number of Bahrainis that have been emploted by the subsidiaries since the beginning of this year has reached 169, the statement said.
The statement explained that as part of its asset consolidation strategy, Gulf Air Group Holding has made a strategic decision to streamline its operations and merge departments across its subsidiaries as it works on implementing its development plans.
The subsidiaries are Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain; Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the operator and managing body of Bahrain International Airport (BIA); and Gulf Air Academy.
This decision to streamline operations and merge departments has been made after careful consideration and has resulted in ceasing operations of some support services departments, the statement said.
The statement added that the group followed all Bahrain labour law regulations and that severance packages are offered accordingly to all individuals affected by these changes.
