FRENCH WEEK - Business Seminar on Taxation and Investment in France and in Alsace, 18 January 2017

In the framework of the French Week, FCCIB and the French Embassy organized a Business Seminar on “Investment and Taxation in France and in Alsace”. The event took place on January 18th, 2017, at Gulf Hotel.

The seminar was opened by H.E. Bernard Régnauld-Fabre, Ambassador of France to Bahrain. After the introduction, Mr. Jean-Christophe Durand, President of FCCIB presented the activities and missions of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Bahrain. Following, Mr. Hamza Belgourari, representative of Business France, gave a speech about “why smart investors choose France?” than Mr. Andre Reichardt, Senator of Bah-Rhin (Alsace) as well as Mr. Olivier Eck presented the region of Alsace, its economic attributes, the different opportunities and the flourishing sectors the region has to offer. Among our guest speakers, we also counted Mr. Stephane Taïeb, Taxation Specialist and Partner at Baker & Mackenzie, who, through his speech corrected some misconceptions on investment conditions and taxation in France. The seminar was closed with the interesting presentation of Mrs. Rosiane Houngbo-Monteverde, managing partner at the law firm Legal-Nomads, who gave a speech about the legal aspects of investing in France.

The event gathered around 40 participants: FCCIB members, VIPs and key actors from different industries in Bahrain and Alsace.
