French Manufacturing Sector Sentiment Improves in November
Sentiment in the French manufacturing sector rose in November, despite supply disruptions and the spread of the Delta variant of the coronavirus across Europe.
Manufacturing sentiment was at 109 in November, up from 107 in October, the French national statistics office said Wednesday. Economists polled by The Wall Street Journal had forecast a reading of 106.
The improvement in sentiment is mainly due to the increase in foreign orders, and to a lesser extent to the increase in overall order books and planned production, Insee said.
All the economic sectors posted gains in sentiment in November, Insee said.
