France hails foreign investment projects totalling 3.5 bln euros
Over 100 international enterprise chief executives were invited to the "Choose France" summit at the Palace of Versailles on Monday.
Earlier in the day, Macron visited Renault's ElectriCity in Douai in the north and welcomed the arrival of Envision Group, a Shanghai-headquartered global green tech leader, which is committed to build with Renault a digitalised, low-carbon battery plant with a capacity of 24 GWh by 2030.
"With an investment of 2 billion euros on the part of the (Envision) group, the plant will become one of the largest battery productions in Europe," announced Macron's office.
"Good news for employment in the Hauts-de-France region. 1,000 jobs will be created by 2024," it added.
