Finance Minister stresses economic policies development to achieve recovery

Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa participated in the Development Committee within the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG) on behalf of the Arab Group countries and the Maldives.

The minister stressed the importance of developing economic policies and enhancing flexibility in the phase of recovery from the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and the role of WBG in addressing them.

He higlighted the need to invest in human capital and to activate their role within the economic development process, by refining their skills to achieve the highest standards of productivity.

Shaikh Salman pointed to the significance of achieving the sustainable development goals through the optimal use of resources and the formulation of strong legislation for the digital economy, taking into account consumer and data protection and cybersecurity risks.
