Executive-legislative ties ‘help achieve goals’
Manama: Successful and ongoing collaboration between the executive and legislative authorities continues to deliver on the aspirations of Bahrain’s citizens, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad, the Crown Prince said yesterday.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, made the remarks when he received Parliament chairwoman Fouzia Zainal and Shura Council chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh.
He pointed out the positive preliminary fiscal results for 2019, and praised the ministerial committee for financial and economic affairs and fiscal balance and the Finance and National Economy Ministry for their important roles in implementing the initiatives of the Fiscal Balance Programme.
The Crown Prince also noted the importance of redoubling efforts to increase the contribution of non-oil revenue to the economy and reduce expenditure, underscoring the need for integrated efforts between the executive and legislative authorities in this regard.
He added that providing extensive opportunities for citizens in tandem with economic growth is a central component of the kingdom’s comprehensive development plans, and noted that citizens will always remain at the heart of all development efforts.
The Crown Prince underlined swift efforts taken by the Supreme Council for Health and the Health Ministry to ensure efficient preventive measures are implemented against the coronavirus outbreak, as well as their co-operation with major centres for disease control and international organisations.
