EWA starts shouldering utility bills for all subscribers

The Electricity and Water Authority yesterday started shouldering utility bills for all subscribers, including individuals and commercial, from April 1, covering three months.

In a message to subscribers, the ministry said Bahrain’s government will pay the bills for April, May and June this year, including fixed administrative fees and municipal fees, which should not exceed the amount of the bills for the same months of 2019.

The move was part of a government economic stimulus package worth BD4.3 billion to offset the financial impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.
