Eligible citizens to receive subsidies on Friday

Eligible citizens will receive their government subsidies directly tomorrow instead of Saturday, Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel Humaidan has announced.

The amounts to be disbursed will be transferred to the beneficiaries’ accounts covering social security and financial support including the new 10 per cent increase.

More than 128,000 Bahraini families will benefit from direct government subsidy and the total amount will be transferred to their bank accounts.

The number of social security beneficiaries has reached 16,800 families and individuals, while more than 12,700 people with disability will benefit from the disability allowance and 44,700 will benefit from housing allowance disbursed by the Housing Ministry.

More than 173,000 families will this month receive meat subsidy cash compensations, which is transferred every three months.
