Egypt's annual inflation rate increased to 19.20% in November 2022, compared to 6.20% in the corresponding month a year earlier, Akhbar El-Yom cited a report by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

Month-on-month (MoM), the country’s consumer price index (CPI) recorded 140.70 points in November 2022, up by 2.50% when compared to October 2022.

The increase was driven by higher prices of grains and bread by 4.80%, dairy products and eggs by 5.50%, meat and poultry by 6.80%, fish and seafood by 3.70%, and vegetables by 7.80%.

On the other hand, the fruit group went down by 1%.
