Efforts to reduce carbon emissions highlighted

Oil and Environment Minister and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs Dr Mohammed Bin Daina has praised the efforts of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to promote climate security and sustainable development goals (SDGs) by taking action on climate change.

Dr Bin Daina was speaking as he met UNFCCC executive secretary Simon Stiell on the sidelines of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 78).

Bahrain’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions and adapt to climate change were reviewed during the meeting.

They also discussed ways to enhance collaboration and share the experiences of climate action in Bahrain and other countries ahead of the upcoming COP28 in the UAE.
