E-Platform for Bahrain experts
The National Platform for Bahrain’s Experts has been officially launched by Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, writes Mohammed Al A’Ali.
The electronic platform, worked on jointly by the Labour Ministry and the Information and eGovernment Authority, showcases Bahrainis in multiple fields of expertise.
The database highlights specialists and documents their professional credentials and progress.
Those listed will be available to offer feedback on their specialist subjects to those seeking assistance at home and abroad. The Interior Minister described the platform as one of the initiatives of the National Plan, approved by the Cabinet in 2019, to ‘appreciate local expertise’.
“We have chosen 40 elite Bahraini experts to showcase as model pioneers in six fields,” platform head and Labour Ministry manpower director Dr Essam Al Alawi told the GDN.
“We needed the best examples in the pilot phase and now we have opened the door for more potential success stories,” he added.
“The best way to promote nationalism is by taking your own and putting them at the frontier.
“People want to learn more about the outstanding individuals in banking and insurance, industry, manufacturing, health real estate and IT.
“There are others from different sectors who have approached us and an independent committee has been tasked to oversee possible additions to the platform.
“Competing for excellence is what develops a nation and takes it onwards and upwards and that’s what we are trying to achieve.”
The spotlight on Bahraini skills and an integrated Registry of Experts was just one of many initiatives highlighted by General Shaikh Rashid, who is also the chairman of the Follow-Up Committee to implement a National Plan to Promote the Spirit of Belonging to the Nation and Reinforce the Values of Nationalism (Bahrainouna), aimed at marking ‘Community Partnership and Belonging to the Nation Day’.
