Dubai to welcome tourists from July 7: Media Office

Dubai will welcome tourists from July 7, 2020, it was announced on Sunday. The Dubai Media Office tweeted that the tourists will be required to present a recent Covid-19 negative certificate or undergo testing at Dubai airports.

The media office added that the emirate's airports will start receiving residents stranded abroad from tomorrow (June 22). It also said that citizens and residents will be permitted to travel overseas from June 23.

These decisions have been announced as per directives issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the follow-up of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.

The UAE had last week announced three categories of destinations for citizens and residents wanting to travel abroad from June 23 and specified conditions for travellers.

Dr Seif Al Dhaheri, spokesperson from the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, had said that destinations are split into three categories: low-risk where everyone can travel, medium risk (travel for specific purposes) and high-risk countries (no travel).
