Date set for 2021 Smart Cities Summit

The fifth edidtion of the Smart City Summit will open on October 10 at the Gulf Convention Center under the patronage of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf.

 

SmartWay Consultants will hold the two-day event which will be attended by local and international organizations, including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the UN Habitat Programme, Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah), Bahrain STC, Diyar Al Muharraq and other government entities and international consultant companies.

 

“The fifth edition will be held under the theme Redefining Smart Cities, confirming Bahraini decisonmakers’ commitment to smart cities transformation”, said the minister.

 

He stressed the importance of the of the Smart Cities Summit which, he said, which will enable Bahrain to benefit from global experiences whose impact will will positively reflect on the local construction boom.

 

 He said that the 2021 edition builds on the success of the 2019 summit, which was attended by seven government entities, in addition to three international parties and 250 participants.
