Customs’ role in supporting global economies praised

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister highlighted the vital roles played by Customs authorities in supporting global economies and promoting economic development.

He made the statement as he yesterday met World Customs Organisation (WCO) chairman Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and members of the WCO Policy Commission, at Gudaibiya Palace.

HRH Prince Salman commended the efforts of the Bahraini workforce in Bahrain’s Customs, who always work in the best interests of the country and the citizens, and adopt best international practices that cement the kingdom’s position at the international level.

He welcomed the members of the committee to Bahrain, praised the outcomes of the committee meeting, which was held for the first time in the kingdom.

HRH Prince Salman commended the efforts of the WCO, headed by Shaikh Ahmed, wishing it further success.

The delegates expressed their thanks and appreciation to HRH Prince Salman for his support in promoting Customs work and wished the kingdom further progress and prosperity.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s adviser Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa also attended the meeting.
