Covid-19 warriors honoured

MANAMA: Frontline Covid-19 warriors were honoured yesterday for their efforts to combat the pandemic.

Thirteen ministries and public establishments as well as 19 leading personalities were awarded the Shaikh Isa Bin Ali Prize for Voluntary Work at a virtual ceremony.

Among those honoured yesterday was Supreme Council for Health president Lieutenant General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, who chairs the National Taskforce for Combating Covid-19.

The final ceremony of the 10th edition of the prize was patronised by Cabinet Affairs Ministry Under-Secretary and Good Word Society honorary chairman Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa.

The society organised the virtual ceremony via Zoom platform, in co-ordination with the Arab Voluntary Work Union.

Shaikh Isa bin Ali outlined the success of the award since its inception and underlined efforts to hold it this year despite the virus challenges
