Countdown to ‘A New Era’ at BIC

The countdown continues to the Middle East’s biggest sporting and social occasion as the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2022 is just around the corner.

Only 20 days remain until the world’s motor racing stars hit the tarmac at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir for the beginning of “A New Era” in the top flight, with the season-opening round of the 2022 FIA F1 World Championship.

Taking place from March 18 to 20, all eyes will be on “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East” to mark the competitive track debut of F1’s newest cars following the sport’s shake-up of rules and regulations.

The Bahrain Grand Prix will undoubtedly be an historic event, with a packed programme of racing all throughout the weekend. Aside from F1, there will also be action in the three support series, namely the FIA Formula 2 Championship, the FIA Formula 3 Championship and the Porsche Sprint Challenge Middle East.

F2 and F3 are the leading junior categories that help prepare F1 aspirants for the climb up the motorsport ladder, while the Porsche Sprint Challenge Middle East is the most competitive one-make motor racing series in the entire region.

To complement the racing, BIC has lined up a spectacular off-track entertainment programme for the whole family.

This will be highlighted by the back-to-back concerts on the night of March 18, when renowned DJs Don Diablo and Afrojack take to the stage for separate live performances.

Those who buy their Grand Prix tickets before March 1 will be able to enjoy additional benefits, including free entry to F1 pre-season testing at BIC on March 11-12.

They will also have the chance to win one of two pairs of Paddock Club passes for the tests, in a competition launched by BIC.

The winners will get to enjoy F1 action in a five-star setting with some of the best views at the circuit, with the Paddock Club offering the VIP experience of exquisite cuisine and a chance to see celebrity F1 ambassadors and more.

Competition

The competition is open to retail customers who buy Main Grandstand or Turn One Grandstand tickets before March 1. They will be entered into a draw, and the winners will be selected in a raffle. The competition closes at midnight on February 28 with the draw taking place on March 3.

Furthermore, ticketholders can enjoy the Pit Lane Walk, which is returning after a two-year absence, on March 17 at 6pm.

Ticket discounts are available for the Grand Prix for children aged three to 12 at 50 per cent off, with reductions also available to students, those with special needs, and senior citizens.
