Concert set to mark Bahrain National Theatre’s anniversary

THE Bahrain Philharmonic Orchestra will stage a concert at the Bahrain National Theatre on Sunday, to mark the theatre’s 10th anniversary.

Conducted by founder maestro Major General Dr Mubarak Najem, the concert will also be part of National Day festivities.

The orchestra will play Scheherazade by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Swan Lake by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Carmen by Georges Bizet, and other famed pieces.

The event will also feature solo performances by the international panflute player Liselotte Rokyta from the Czech Republic, British trombonist John Milgate and promising Bahraini violinist Aseel Al Jabal.

The orchestra, including Bahraini qanun player Mohammed Asiri and flautist Ayman Barjas, will present a collection of wonderful Bahraini and Gulf melodies.

Concert tickets are available at Virgin Megastore at City Centre Bahrain, or through the store’s website.
