Check price tags call to consumers

Consumers have been urged to double-check price tags on items at shops to ensure details match the products and report any violations.

The Industry and Commerce Ministry released a video on social media stressing the importance of full details and accurate pricing – on the shelf and on receipts.

Traders were informed that if price tags don’t match a violation will be recorded on the establishment’s Commercial Registration (CR).

“If a violation is registered, the owner must submit a request to remove the refraction from the CR,” said the ministry.

“Pictures must be attached to the request to prove the rectified violation.

“Our role as inspectors is to strengthen trade operations and ensure that laws and regulations are followed.

“Consumers are our eyes on the ground and the first line of defence so if you see any registration please report it to 17111225 or inspection@moic.gov.bh”.
