Cabinet go-ahead for six projects

The government yesterday gave the go-ahead to six new agricultural projects aimed to boost Bahrain’s food production.

They were approved during the weekly Cabinet meeting, chaired remotely by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Prime Minister.

The Finance and National Economy Minister submitted a memo featuring the projects which were approved.

The projects are in line with royal directives to boost food security and promote investment in this vital sector.

They are also part of government-led initiatives to achieve sustainable food security, enhance self-sufficiency and support Bahraini farmers.

Bahrain’s national Press was yesterday praised for its role in serving the nation and enhancing social awareness. The virtual session paid tribute to the national media marking Bahrain Press Day, which will be observed on Friday.

It saluted all the Press and media community, hailing their contributions to the sustainable development efforts in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad.

The session praised His Majesty’s keyonote address marking the World Press Freedom Day and the royal praise of the Fourth Estate which is an active partner of Team Bahrain’s national efforts to combat Covid-19.

Bahrain will dispatch medical equipment and oxygen to help Pakistan combat the surge of Covid-19 infections, it was announced.

The session reiterated Bahrain’s full support and solidarity with Pakistan, facing a third wave of coronavirus infections.
