BIC set to create family atmosphere at 8 Hours

The high-octane motorsport action never stops at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), nor does the stellar entertainment programme at its biggest global events.

For the second successive race weekend this Friday and Saturday, a vibrant mix of attractions including international dance shows, music acts and roaming performers, plus a delightful kids’ zone, will be keeping families busy off the track at ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East’ as it hosts the FIA WEC Bapco 8 Hours of Bahrain.

The event is the second race of the first-ever World Endurance Championship (WEC) double-header, and it will mark the sixth final round of the series’ 2021 season.

Tickets for Friday and Saturday can be purchased online or at the gate. They cost just BD5 for adults and BD2.5 for children aged three to 12 years old. Kids under three are free, whilst there are also further discounts available for students, those with special needs and senior citizens.

Tickets are priced as one of the most affordable ways to witness a World Championship motorsport event. Full details are available at bahraingp.com.

Spectator entry policy for the race weekend is in line with Bahrain’s prevailing Covid-19 traffic light system. Under the current green conditions, entry is permitted to all.

The stage acts and roaming entertainers will be performing at various times throughout the day on both days this weekend. Amongst the headlining attractions will be the ‘Hakuna Matata’ show. Two popular local bands will also be taking to the stage, namely Kushari Band and The Legendz.

The roaming entertainers will be out and about across BIC’s vending area, interacting with fans with their unique acts including a Fire Show, an LED Dance Show, and a Bongo Percussion performance.

The kids’ zone will have children of all ages enjoying the wide array of fun and engaging activities. These include an ice rink to go skating, a trampoline and maze, plus rides in the Flying Car and Pirate Ship. There will also be a Bunny Carousel, an Inflatable Cars Circuit, a Thomas the Train ride, a Dram Land experience and a friendly clown handing out balloon twists.

The kids’ zone is located along the BIC vending area behind the circuit’s Main Grandstand.

All this and much more awaits the public at this weekend’s FIA WEC Bapco 8 Hours of Bahrain.
