'BD40 million allocated to support businesses in first phase'

The government allocated a budget of BD40 million to support businesses in the first phase, said Tamkeen Chief Executive Dr Ebrahim Janahi.

The first phase of the programme was activated in March 2020, and grants were provided to support part of the operating expenses of small and micro enterprises in all economic sectors affected by the coronavirus, he said.

“Support was provided to more than 15,600 small and micro enterprises,” he said, speaking at a Press conference of the National Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus.
