BD21m dues paid

MANAMA: Ministries and government departments have paid outstanding dues worth BD21 miillion to private sector companies as well as small and medium enterprises.

The Finance and National Economy Ministry co-ordinated with government bodies to pay them. Assistant under-secretary for joint financial services Nada Kamal stressed the ministry’s keenness to support the private sector which plays a crucial role in supporting the national economy and spurring growth.

She was speaking during a meeting with Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, focusing on the role of the ministry in processing contracts with suppliers.
