BCCI’s key rolein economic growth praised

The key role played by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) in enhancing the economic reality of the kingdom and boosting the private sector’s contribution to the gross domestic product has been highlighted by a top government official.

Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed Alzayani said this as he chaired the first meeting of the working group of the ministry and the BCCI to study and follow up the implementation of the BCCI recommendations.

The working group, headed by the minister, was set up on the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Prime Minister, after the BCCI presented recommendations during meetings of the joint economic committee.

Mr Alzayani praised the continuous follow-up and unlimited support accorded by the government to strengthen Bahrain’s economy and emphasise the role of the private sector in the development process.

He also lauded the BCCI’s role in boosting co-operation and joint work between the chamber and the ministry and fulfilling the visions and strategies of the government and the private sector in economic and developmental fields.

The frameworks and mechanisms of the team’s work in studying and following up the BCCI recommendations as well as issues of common interest were discussed.
