BAS renews international accreditations

Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) has renewed key international accreditations, including the IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations programme (ISAGO) and the (ISO/IEC] 17025:20170 certification.

BAS has been an ISAGO-certified company since 2009, and has successfully renewed its accreditation as it maintains global industry standards complied by all ground handling organisations.

The company assesses operational management and control systems as a ground services provider, meeting best industry practices at all times. The renewal of this accreditation covers the certification’s disciplines, which include organisation and management, load control, passenger and baggage handling, aircraft handling and loading, aircraft ground movement, cargo and mail handling.

IATA’s Safety Audit of Ground Operations (ISAGO) programme is an internationally-recognised system for assessing the operational management and control systems of an organisation that provides ground handling services for airlines.

For the seventh consecutive year, BAS has also achieved the renewal of the (ISO/IEC] 17025:2017) accreditation, which was completed by the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB).

The renewal of this certification reiterates the company’s ongoing efforts to facilitate cooperation between various laboratories that perform calibration and testing against international standards.

The (ISO/IEC] 17025:2017) accreditation is the main international standard for general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories and is applicable to all organisations performing laboratory activities.

BAS has also renewed its (HACCP) Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point accreditation and the (ISO 22000:2018) Food Safety Management systems accreditation earlier this year.
