Bahrain's youth empowerment efforts stressed

Speaker of the Representatives Council Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, the Head of the parliamentary delegation taking part in the 143rd session of the General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), has emphasised the significant role of the youth in Bahrain and the world in charting a better future for all. She pointed out that supporting the “I Say Yes to the Youth at the Parliament” campaign, which was launched by IPU in June, is in tune with Bahrain’s vision that is inspired from the visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The Representatives Council Speaker asserted that the royal vision accords a great importance to the youth, being the pillar of national development. She underlined the efforts being made to integrate their aspirations into the core of the strategies and plans of the governmental institutions. She also underscored keenness of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to further empower the youth and integrate their needs and aspirations in the national plans.

The Representatives Council Speaker commended the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, to boost the youth’s role in the development march.

In a speech delivered as part of “I Say Yes to the Youth at the Parliament” function, which was held on the sidelines of the 143rd session of IPU’s General Assembly in the Spanish capital, Madrid, the Representatives Council Speaker stressed the growing legislative role of the Representatives Council in empowering the youth socially, economically and politically. She pointed out the existence of a permanent qualitative parliamentary committee for the youth to discuss laws and legislations.
