Bahrain’s relations with World Bank highlighted

Bahrain is committed to consolidating co-operation with the World Bank Group (WBG) which contributes to achieving sustainable development goals, said Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.

The minister noted the pivotal role of the World Bank in mitigating international challenges and fallouts and supporting global growth momentum.

The Finance and National Economy Minister made the comments as he met the nominated candidate for president of WBG, Ajay Banga.

The meeting was also attended by ministers of finance, central banks governors from Arab countries and Maldives.

The session was held on the sidelines of the minister’s participation in the meetings of International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Washington.

The meeting focused on the WBG’s aspirations and priorities, as well as pivotal role in achieving development goals.

The importance of partnership with the private sector was also highlighted.
