The second Gulf Downstream Association (GDA) International Downstream Conference and Exhibition will be held at Exhibition World Bahrain on February 13-15 under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

It will be a strategic platform and an excellent opportunity to benefit from investment projects and creative innovations in the field, Oil and Environment Minister Dr Mohammed Bin Daina, who is the country’s Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, said yesterday.

The conference will discuss specialised topics to meet technological, financing and manufacturing challenges, as well as exchange information, experiences and best practices in this field, he said.

The forum will be attended by dignitaries from GCC as well as chief executives of national, regional and international oil companies.

The event is being organised by the GDA and the M3 Company in co-ordination with the Oil and Environment Ministry, with the support of various Bahraini, Gulf and international companies.

Dr Bin Daina thanked HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his unwavering support for the kingdom’s oil and gas sector as part of the country’s comprehensive development.

He stressed that HRH Prince Salman’s patronage emphasises the importance of the conference.

The conference will also focus on technical and scientific papers and discussions on many topics with the participation of more than 150 speakers from across the world.

Prominent topics will include challenges and opportunities for the growth of the refining industry, flexibility, decarbonisation and sustainability, obstacles and digitisation in the refining and processing sector, marketing and human capital management, market analysis and industry trends.

The event will provide a great opportunity for the participants and visitors to exchange innovative ideas and possible solutions to the challenges facing the refining and other related industries.
