Bahrain to host opening race of 2021 F1 calendar

Bahrain's Formula 1 Grand Prix has been confirmed as the season opener for the 2021 season, with the Australian Grand Prix, which usually starts the season, pushed to November 21.

The kingdom's race weekend, scheduled for March 26 - 28, will be its first-ever season opener.

The FIA, Formula 1's parent body, also announced that due to the Australian Grand Prix being delayed as a result of the Covid-19 situation, Saudi Arabia's Grand Prix will now be held on December 5 and the season-closing Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will be on December 12.

As a result, the Formula 1 season will start and end in the Middle East for the first time in F1 history.
