Bahrain to host DP World International Golf tour in February

Manama, Sept. 19 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA) and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), has unveiled that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa will patronise DP World International Golf tour, set to be hosted by the kingdom on February 1-4, 2024. 

 

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad was speaking during the announcement event attended by HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, GSA Deputy Chairman, Bahrain Combat Sports Council Chairman, and Keith Bailey, CEO of DB World International Golf tour, were present.

 

HH Shaikh Khalid expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to HM the King for his patronage of the event, which reflects constant keenness to support the sports movement, and the kingdom’s efforts to host a variety of international events, which contributes to enhancing its status on the international sports map.   

“Golf enjoys the great support and care of His Majesty the King, who is a golfer himself. This reflects His Majesty’s great interest in sports and support for athletes. We are proud of the royal patronage of the tour, which will contribute to its success,” His Highness said. 

HH Shaikh Khalid affirmed Bahrain’s pride in hosting this prestigious international golf tournament at the Royal Golf Club, expressing confidence in the tour’s success. 

 

 

His Highness stressed that hosting this championship will enhance Bahrain’s status and highlight its capabilities in organising international sporting events, affirming commitment to supporting and developing golf in the kingdom.
