Bahrain Chamber’s 30th board holds first meeting

 Sameer Nass yesterday won by acclamation chairmanship of the board of Bahrain Chamber during the first meeting of the 30th panel of directors.

The meeting also saw Khalid Najibi elected as first vice-chairman, Mohammed Al Kooheji being made the second vice-chairman, Aaref Hejres the treasurer and Waleed Kanoo, the vice-treasurer.

In addition, both Bassem Al Saei and Ahmed Al Saloom were elected as executive bureau members by acclamation.

During the meeting, Mr Nass expressed pride in the confidence bestowed upon him by the members of the board of directors, and hailed the efforts they exerted to fulfil the goals.

The board commended the unlimited support extended by the wise leadership headed by His Majesty King Hamad, with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The directors also hailed the active participation of members in the election on March 19, and extended thanks and appreciation to the election committee headed by Adel Al Maskati, and the appeals committee headed by Mosaab Bu-Saiba.

The board vowed exerting all efforts to serve the business community, and enhance gains for the private sector to play its role in economic development as per the Economic Vision 2030.

It also pledged representing the private sector and advocating its interests, while empowering the Chamber to be an effective partner in drawing economic decisions and policies.

The meeting discussed preliminary ideas for the chamber’s future strategy, its work mechanism, activating the role of its sector committees, and its stances toward issues of concern to the business community in Bahrain.

The meeting was chaired by Yousif Salahuddin, the most senior among the members, prior to electing the chairman and his deputies.
